Meal Plans

Do my Declining Balance Dollars rollover?

Add on Declining Balance Dollars (DB) do roll over from semester to semester and or academic year.
Bear Bucks (included with your meal plan) roll over from Fall to Spring, but expire at the end of each Academic Year. Bear Bucks are non-refundable.

What is the difference between Bear Bucks and Declining Balance Dollars?

Bear Bucks are dollars that come with various residential meal plans. Declining Balance Dollars are added on by you the customer.

Can I change my Residential Meal Plan, and if so when?

The residential meal plans can be changed the first two weeks of each semester.

How much do the Residential Meal Plans cost?

The price of the meal plans is included in your room and board. ARAMARK does not collect any money for these services from the students. The price of the Unlimited+7 plan is the price of the Unlimited+5 plus $85. The price of the Unlimited+6 plan is the price of the Unlimited+5 plus $45.

What are guest bonus meals, and what can they be used for?

Guest Bonus Meals are associated with specific Residential Meal Plans and are given for a student to use for a guest. Each meal plan offers a different amount of guest bonus meals. These can only be used in the Dining Hall.

If I run out of Bear Bucks can I add more?

Yes, you may add Declining Balance Dollars (DB) at any time during the school year. DB dollars work the same as Bear Bucks.

Where can Bear Bucks or Declining Balance Dollars be used?

At any of our four locations (Cromer Center Dining Hall, Bear’s Lair Food Court, Cub’s Pub, P.O.D. Express).

How does Meal Equivalency work?

Meal Equivalency is designed for residential meal plan students who do not have time to eat in the Dining Hall. Students can go to the Bear’s Lair or the Cubs' Pub for a designated meal, which replaces their meal in the dining hall. Each meal is deducted from their account just like a meal in the Dining Hall. One meal swipe per meal period is allowed per student.

How do I add Declining Balance Dollars?

Click on "BUY ONLINE NOW" at the top of this page to add money to your account and pay with a credit card. You may also go by the LR Campus Dining Services office, located in Cromer Center Dining Hall. Faculty and Staff DB deposit checks should be made payable to ARAMARK. Student DB deposit checks should be made payable to ARAMARK. Call 828-328-7148 for more information.

Can anyone else use my meal plan?

No one else can use your ID card or meals. You may use your guest bonus meals for friends and relatives, but you must accompany them. All funds and plans purchased for use in the Lenoir-Rhyne Dining facilities are for personal use of the owner of the account or plan and are non-transferable. The Lenoir-Rhyne Dining funds and plans cannot be used as a gift card or gift certificate. Except as otherwise expressly stated in these terms, all Lenoir-Rhyne Dining funds and plans are non-refundable.

If I have a Block Meal Plan, where can I use it?

Block Meals (for Commuters, Faculty & Staff) may be used in Cromer Center Dining Hall or for meal equivalency in The Bears' Lair or The Cubs' Pub for designated meals.

How do I get a Promotional Code?

Unfortunately, we are not currently offering Promotional Codes. We may offer Promotional Codes in the future, so please check back periodically.

How do I use the Menu?

We have utilities designed to help your health. Use the Meal Calculator Box to quickly relate the nutritional information of two or more items. The Meal Calculator can populate the nutritional value of your meal. Use our quick nutritional icons to identify food with special preparation or contents at a glance.

What are AFO/FPO/DPO addresses?

APO and FPO addresses allow the postal service to efficiently deliver mail to active duty military members serving overseas. When the mail arrives at the APO or FPO, the staff will send the mail onto the proper division of the military to which the addressee belongs. The division then delivers the mail to the individual. 

How do I increase password security?

Your password should be at least 8 characters that include upper and lower case characters, numbers, and symbols. You should always use a unique password for each website you use; that way, if one account gets compromised, the rest are safe. Other ways to ensure the security of your password include:

    • If passwords must be written down on a piece of paper, store the paper in  a secure place and destroy it when it is no longer needed.

    • Never share passwords with anyone.

    • Change passwords immediately if they may have been compromised.

    • Be careful about where passwords are saved on computers. Some dialog boxes present an option to save or remember a password. Selecting this option poses a potential security threat.

How do I use variants?

Have your food your way! Choose from our variant options to customize your meal exactly how you want it. Please note any charges that might be associated with adding additional variants to your meal.

What is a CVV?

The Card Validation Code is a 3 digit number set that uniquely identifies your credit card.


Visa/Mastercard and Discover Users

Flip your card over and look at the signature box. You should see either the entire 16-digit credit card number or just the last four digits followed by a special 3-digit code. This 3-digit code is your Card Security Code.

American Express Credit Card Users
Look for the 4-digit code printed on the front of your card just above and to the right of your main credit card number. This 4-digit code is your Card Identification Number (CID). The CID is the four-digit code printed just above the Account Number.

Why are my products split into separate orders and why does this happen?
